Putrajaya, February 28, 2026: Malaysia strongly condemned the attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the subsequent retaliatory strikes on several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Saturday.
The ministry described the attacks as violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing that such unilateral military actions risk further destabilizing an already fragile region and endangering civilian lives. Malaysia underscored that the use of force contravenes the Charter of the United Nations and international law.
At this critical juncture, Malaysia called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent further escalation and urged that disputes be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with international law.
The statement also appealed to the international community, including the United Nations, to take urgent and decisive action to de-escalate tensions and restore peace and stability in the region.
