Bajaur, March 15, 2026: At least four civilians were martyred and a five-year-old child seriously injured after artillery and mortar fire from across the Afghanistan border struck the Tabesta Letai, Salarzai area on Monday afternoon, according to Pakistani authorities.

The four victims—Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz, and Muaz—were brothers, highlighting the human toll of the attack, which targeted residential areas. Local communities and residents expressed outrage over the deliberate assault on civilians.

Officials accused the Afghan Taliban regime, in coordination with the terrorist group Fitna-al-Khawarij, of deliberately targeting innocent populations, calling the attack a “cowardly and heinous violation of international law and basic human values.”

The military statement said the attack reflects the Taliban’s desperation following heavy losses inflicted on their positions by Armed Forces of Pakistan during Operation Ghazb Lil Haq, aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure along the border.

Authorities confirmed that a robust response is underway against the positions and infrastructure responsible for the assault. Pakistani security forces have vowed to hold the perpetrators accountable while continuing counterterrorism operations in the region.
