Lahore, April 1, 2026: Emerging opener Maaz Sadaqat struck a scintillating half-century to propel Hyderabad Kingsmen to a formidable total against Multan Sultans in the eighth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first, Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne saw his decision pay off as the tournament debutants posted an imposing 225/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Kingsmen made an aggressive start, with Saim Ayub and Maaz Sadaqat putting on 59 runs in just five overs. Saim was dismissed for a brisk 27 off 20 balls, caught and bowled by Peter Siddle.

Maaz continued his onslaught, stitching short partnerships with Labuschagne and Usman Khan before falling to Mohammad Nawaz in the 10th over. The 20-year-old was the standout performer, scoring a rapid 62 off just 26 deliveries, including five sixes and five fours.

Usman Khan followed soon after, dismissed for a quickfire knock when he was caught by Shehzad Gull off Mohammad Wasim Jr, leaving Kingsmen at 127/4 in 11.2 overs.

After a brief wobble, experienced Sharjeel Khan anchored the innings with an unbeaten 51 off 26 balls, striking four sixes and three fours. He was well supported by Syed Saad Ali and Muhammad Irfan Khan, who added valuable late-order contributions of 23 and 22 not out, respectively.

For Multan Sultans, Mohammad Wasim Jr was the most effective bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 37 runs in his four overs. Nawaz, Siddle, and captain Ashton Turner picked up one wicket each.

With a commanding total on the board, Hyderabad Kingsmen will look to back their batting effort with a disciplined bowling performance.
