Islamabad, April 2, 2026: The Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan, Damián Cordero Torres, paid a courtesy call on Carlos Aragón Gil de la Serna, Ambassador of Spain, in Islamabad.

According to diplomatic sources, the meeting marked an introductory interaction between the two envoys and was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the shared cultural and historical ties between their countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Cordero Torres expressed gratitude for Spain’s continued support to Cuba, particularly through humanitarian assistance and supplies provided via Spanish international cooperation mechanisms during challenging times.

He also appreciated Spain’s consistent stance at international forums, including its annual vote against the longstanding U.S. blockade on Cuba and its position of refraining from what he described as “warmongering rhetoric.”

The Spanish ambassador welcomed the gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining constructive engagement and professional exchanges, underscoring the importance of diplomatic dialogue and cooperation.
