Islamabad, April 17, 2026: Cuban Ambassador Damián Cordero Torres participated in the opening ceremony of a photography exhibition that pays tribute to the Soviet people who fell victim to the genocide perpetrated by Nazi forces during the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945).
The photo exhibition, organized by the Russian Embassy and displayed in one of the galleries of the National Council of the Arts of Pakistan, is a stark testament to what fascism has done and can do against humanity.
This is something we must not forget in these times of resurgence of such nefarious ideologies, as warned by the Russian Ambassador, Mr. Albert P. Khorev, in his opening remarks.
Cuba, always grateful for Russian solidarity, was present, as were other Ambassadors from the accredited diplomatic corps.
