Abbottabad, April 18, 2026: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu said that Pakistan remains a peaceful country committed to dialogue, while warning that any aggression against the country would be met with a swift and strong response.

He made these remarks while addressing the passing out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy in Abbottabad, where cadets from the 153rd PMA Long Course and 38th Technical Graduate Course were commissioned despite heavy rain.

The Air Chief congratulated cadets from friendly countries and expressed satisfaction over the participation of female cadets, terming PMA Kakul one of the world’s premier military training institutions.

He emphasized that the foremost duty of the graduating cadets is to ensure the security and defence of the motherland.

Referring to past military engagements, he said the world had witnessed Pakistan’s operational strategy during “Ma’arka-e-Haq” and “Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” adding that the Pakistan Air Force had made history by downing enemy aircraft and demonstrating exceptional professionalism.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause, stating that the issue should be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The Air Chief also appreciated global peace efforts and praised the political and military leadership for their guidance. He noted that PMA’s trained instructors were playing a vital role in shaping the future leadership of the armed forces.

Cadets from friendly countries including Sri Lanka, Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Maldives, Mali, and Nepal also passed out during the ceremony. Outstanding cadets were awarded distinctions, while the event concluded with a traditional oath of loyalty to the nation.
