Islamabad, May 5, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review key consular matters and improve service delivery for Pakistani nationals both at home and abroad.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on strengthening coordination between relevant government departments and enhancing citizen facilitation mechanisms, particularly in consular services.

The deputy prime minister appreciated ongoing inter-ministerial coordination and stressed the need to further improve the efficiency of passport issuance and other consular processes. He called for streamlined, citizen-centric systems aimed at ensuring timely and effective assistance for the public, especially the overseas Pakistani diaspora.

The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Secretary Foreign Affairs Amna Baloch, Secretary Interior, and senior officials from both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior.

Officials reviewed existing service delivery frameworks and discussed measures to further improve responsiveness, efficiency and accessibility in consular support services for Pakistani citizens worldwide.
