Lahore, June 2, 2026: Half-centuries from Australian captain Josh Inglis and all-rounder Cameron Green guided Australia to 231/9 in 50 overs against Pakistan in the second One-Day International at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
After winning the toss, Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi elected to field first, and his decision paid immediate dividends when he dismissed Australian opener Alex Carey for a first-ball duck.
The early wicket brought Josh Inglis to the crease, and the Australian skipper attempted to stabilize the innings. He shared a 46-run partnership with opener Matthew Short before the latter was dismissed for 15 by Abrar Ahmed.
Australia slipped further to 51/3 when Arafat Minhas removed Marnus Labuschagne for five.
Inglis then combined with Cameron Green in a crucial rebuilding effort, adding 51 runs for the fourth wicket. The Australian captain reached his fifth ODI half-century before falling to Arafat Minhas for 51 off 74 balls, including five boundaries.
Green continued to anchor the innings and later shared a valuable 65-run partnership with Matt Renshaw. He top-scored for Australia with 53 runs from 92 deliveries, hitting one four and two sixes, before being dismissed by Abrar Ahmed in the 40th over.
Renshaw contributed 43 runs off 43 balls, including three fours, before being bowled by Haris Rauf.
In the closing overs, Oliver Peake provided useful late-order runs with a brisk 31 off 31 deliveries, helping Australia push their total beyond the 230-run mark.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi led the bowling attack with figures of 3 for 36 in eight overs. Arafat Minhas, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed claimed two wickets each as the hosts restricted Australia to a modest total.
Pakistan will now require 232 runs to win the second ODI and level the series.
