Islamabad, June 23, 2026: Dr. Shahida Rehmani, Member of the National Assembly and Secretary of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), along with Dr. Nafisa Shah, MNA and Chairperson of the Special Committee on Gender Mainstreaming, visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday to convey their condolences on the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati.
During the visit, the parliamentarians signed the condolence book opened at the embassy and expressed their deepest sympathies to the Royal Family, the Government, and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand during this period of mourning.
Dr. Shahida Rehmani paid tribute to the late Princess for her distinguished public service and unwavering commitment to advancing women’s rights, social justice, and community welfare. She noted that Her Royal Highness’s efforts in promoting women’s empowerment and human dignity would continue to inspire future generations.
“Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s dedication to public service and her contributions to the advancement of women and vulnerable communities leave behind a lasting legacy,” Dr. Rehmani remarked.
Dr. Nafisa Shah also expressed profound sorrow over the loss and acknowledged the Princess’s significant role in championing social development and women’s empowerment initiatives. She conveyed solidarity with the people of Thailand and offered prayers for the departed soul.
The parliamentarians emphasized that the Princess’s lifelong commitment to social progress and humanitarian causes earned her widespread respect both within Thailand and internationally.
The visit reflected the strong and longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Thailand and reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s women parliamentarians to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus extended its heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and the people of Thailand, joining them in mourning the loss of a respected public figure whose contributions to society and dedication to public welfare will be remembered for generations to come.
