Rawalpindi, June 23, 2026: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), called on the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, to discuss regional developments and ongoing efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on exchanging views regarding the prevailing regional situation and initiatives designed to reduce tensions and encourage dialogue among regional stakeholders.
President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation, and regional stability. He acknowledged Islamabad’s consistent efforts to encourage the peaceful resolution of disputes and foster greater understanding among countries in the region amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
The Iranian President commended Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy and its contributions toward maintaining peace and security in a complex regional environment.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace, stability, and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding in addressing common challenges and promoting lasting security.
Both sides also discussed matters of mutual interest and expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Iran ties and maintaining close consultations on regional and international issues. They underscored their shared objective of advancing peace, prosperity, and stability across the region through enhanced cooperation and sustained engagement.
The meeting reflected the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Iran and the two countries’ mutual desire to deepen collaboration in pursuit of regional harmony and development.
