Islamabad, June 30, 2026: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Tuesday reviewed the performance of the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing (PM’s PA&GW), noting that the body disposed of 92 percent of public complaints received during the current fiscal year.
The committee met at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Rana Iradat Sharif Khan.
During the meeting, the Secretary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs briefed members on the performance, recent initiatives, and future plans of the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and improving the public grievance redressal system.
The committee was informed that the PM’s PA&GW received 18,590 complaints between July 1, 2025, and June 24, 2026. Of these, 17,104 complaints were resolved, resulting in an overall disposal rate of 92 percent.
Officials also informed the committee that the number of complaints increased from 17,975 in 2024–25 to 18,590 in 2025–26, attributing the rise to growing public confidence in the Pakistan Citizens’ Portal and increased awareness of the government’s grievance redressal mechanism.
The committee was further briefed on several initiatives undertaken to improve public service delivery, including nationwide awareness campaigns and the introduction of the dedicated short code 1733 for complaint registration.
Members were also informed that dedicated Flood Relief Desks were established in flood-affected districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the 2025 floods to facilitate the registration and resolution of complaints related to compensation, rehabilitation, and livelihood restoration. Community focal persons were deployed, while special assistance was provided to vulnerable citizens to ensure timely relief.
Chairman Rana Iradat Sharif Khan appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing in strengthening the public complaint resolution system and expanding citizen outreach. However, he stressed that the true measure of success lies in the timely and effective resolution of grievances.
He emphasized that the Wing should continue prioritizing public relief by ensuring the grievance redressal mechanism remains responsive, efficient, and citizen-centric.
