Islamabad, July 28, 2026: Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Pakistan during an appearance on the popular television programme Rising Pakistan, aired on state-run PTV Home.
During the interview, Ambassador Sharifzoda discussed the broad spectrum of bilateral cooperation, including political, economic, trade, cultural, energy, and environmental relations between the two countries.
He said Tajikistan and Pakistan share deep historical links, common cultural values, traditions of hospitality, mutual respect, and a rich literary heritage that continue to strengthen their enduring friendship.
The ambassador also underscored the vast potential for expanding bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation, particularly in agriculture, industry, energy, transport, logistics, tourism, and the development opportunities offered by Tajikistan’s Free Economic Zones.
Highlighting regional connectivity, Ambassador Sharifzoda described the CASA-1000 regional energy project as a strategic initiative that would enhance energy security while promoting greater economic integration between Central and South Asia.
He also spoke about Tajikistan’s achievements since gaining independence and outlined the country’s global initiatives on glacier preservation, sustainable water resource management, and climate change mitigation, noting that these efforts contribute to strengthening international cooperation on environmental challenges.
Concluding the interview, Ambassador Sharifzoda expressed confidence that the friendly relations and strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Pakistan would continue to deepen, bringing lasting benefits to the people of both countries.
