Islamabad, August 28, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday spoke by telephone with Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah and expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with Nepal following the devastating flash floods and landslides that have caused loss of life and widespread destruction in the Himalayan country.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives and the devastation caused by the natural calamity.
Expressing complete solidarity with the Nepalese leadership and people on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, he offered all possible assistance to help Nepal cope with the humanitarian crisis.
The prime minister also informed his Nepalese counterpart that Pakistan was dispatching emergency relief assistance to Nepal to support ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah thanked Shehbaz Sharif for the telephone call and Pakistan’s expression of solidarity and support at a difficult time. He also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s offer of emergency assistance.
The conversation reflected the close and friendly relations between Pakistan and Nepal, as well as Pakistan’s commitment to extending humanitarian support to countries affected by natural disasters.
