Islamabad, September 12, 2026: Leading healthcare institutions have joined hands to explore a long-term strategic partnership aimed at making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable while strengthening medical education, professional training and specialized services in Pakistan.

GAK HealthCare International, Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC), Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and The Diabetes Centre (TDC) are exploring collaboration to bring together their academic, clinical and specialized healthcare expertise.

The proposed partnership would strengthen the link between medical education and clinical practice through professional training, knowledge sharing, technological advancement and greater institutional cooperation.

The discussions took place during TDC’s symposium on osteoporosis and the inauguration of its DEXA Scan facility. Yasir Khan Niazi, Group CEO of GAK HealthCare and IMDC, was the chief guest, while Dr. Areej Neyazi, Director ANTH, was the guest of honour.

During the visit, Yasir Niazi and Dr. Areej Neyazi, accompanied by Group Head of Communication GAK HealthCare Imran Ali Ghouri, held discussions with TDC Chairman Dr. Asjad Hameed, TDC Board Member Dr. Nuzhat Hameed and the centre’s management regarding the proposed long-term partnership.

Yasir Niazi said healthcare institutions needed to work beyond organizational boundaries to address the broader needs of Pakistan’s healthcare system.

“The future of healthcare will not be shaped by institutions working in isolation, but by how intelligently we connect their strengths and invest for impact,” he said, adding that collaboration among medical education, clinical care, technology and specialized expertise could expand capacity, improve outcomes and make better use of available resources.

He said the objective was not merely to advance healthcare but to make quality care more accessible and affordable so that it could reach more people across Pakistan.

As part of the symposium, Yasir Khan Niazi formally inaugurated TDC’s DEXA Scan facility, marking the launch of a specialized diagnostic service for bone-density assessment and supporting the early detection and management of osteoporosis.

Dr. Asjad Hameed welcomed the proposed collaboration, saying stronger institutional linkages could expand healthcare capacity and enable expertise and resources to deliver greater benefits to society.

Imran Ali Ghouri said the opportunity was to translate institutional strengths into tangible outcomes through better-trained professionals, stronger healthcare services and wider access to quality care.

The proposed partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing a more connected and sustainable healthcare ecosystem in Pakistan, where education, clinical expertise, specialized care and technology work together to improve quality and expand access.
