Tashkent, September 17,2026: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has strongly condemned the attempted attack involving an unmanned aerial vehicle directed towards the holy city of Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and stressed that any actions threatening holy sites, civilians or civilian infrastructure are unacceptable.
Uzbekistan called on all sides to exercise maximum restraint, strictly adhere to international law, and respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.
The ministry also voiced support for efforts to reduce tensions, prevent further escalation and spread of the conflict, and promote peace, security and stability in the region.
