Islamabad, October 11,2026: Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, Paulo Guedes Domingues, has extended his warmest congratulations to Navi Pillay on receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, describing the recognition as a well-deserved tribute to her lifelong commitment to human rights, justice and human dignity.
In his congratulatory message, the Portuguese ambassador said it had been a privilege to meet Navi Pillay on several occasions in his capacity as Portugal’s Delegate to the Support Group of the International Commission against the Death Penalty (ICDP).
He said those meetings had further strengthened his admiration for her unwavering dedication to human rights, justice and the protection of human dignity.
The ambassador noted that the recognition honoured a lifetime of courage, integrity and commitment to the rule of law and the pursuit of peace.
Describing the achievement as truly inspiring, he said the award reflected the significance of Navi Pillay’s contributions to advancing justice, human rights and peace.
