Rawalpindi, February 16, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has decided to expel ten party lawmakers who failed to attend the crucial 26th Amendment vote, party insiders revealed.

The only exemption has been granted to Zain Qureshi, while all others have been ordered to be removed from the party.

According to sources, the decision was finalized within Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan conveyed a clear directive to PTI’s senior leadership, instructing them to proceed with the expulsion of the absentee lawmakers. He further ordered that a formal notification be issued to finalize their removal, emphasizing that those who abandoned the party on such a critical occasion had no place in PTI.

The lawmakers facing expulsion include Senator Zarqa Suharwardy, Senator Faisal Saleem, Aslam Ghuman, Riyaz Fatyana, Miqdad Ali Khan, Aurangzeb Khichi, Zahoor Qureshi, Usman Ali, and Mubarak Zaib. While Zain Qureshi was also absent, he has been exempted from disciplinary action.

PTI had previously issued show-cause notices to several of these members, including Aslam Ghuman, Riyaz Fatyana, Zain Qureshi, and Miqdad Ali Khan, for failing to participate in the vote. Aurangzeb Khichi was also served a notice, while Zahoor Qureshi, Usman Ali, and Mubarak Zaib were reported to be completely out of contact with the party on the day of the voting.

The move underscores PTI’s strict stance on party discipline and loyalty, particularly in critical legislative matters.
