Riyadh, October 27, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Riyadh on Monday to attend the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) conference, a premier global forum that brings together world leaders, investors, and innovators to discuss emerging economic frontiers.
Upon his arrival, the premier was warmly received at the airport by Riyadh Deputy Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The visit comes at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, reflecting the deepening strategic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is leading a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and the PM’s aides Tariq Fatemi and Bilal Bin Saqib.
The FII9 conference, themed “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth,” aims to address global challenges and opportunities, with discussions focused on innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and geopolitical shifts.
During his stay, the prime minister is scheduled to hold meetings with the Saudi leadership to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. He will also discuss key regional and international issues of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the conference, PM Shehbaz is expected to meet leaders from other participating countries and heads of international organisations to promote Pakistan’s investment potential and seek partnerships in sustainable and technology-driven development.
According to the Foreign Office, these engagements underscore Pakistan’s commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and fostering strategic partnerships that align with the FII’s “Think, Exchange, and Act” vision.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strengthened their longstanding partnership over the past year, expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors. During PM Shehbaz’s earlier visit to Riyadh on September 18, both countries signed a landmark defence pact, under which an attack on one nation would be treated as an attack on both.
