Lahore/Queta, December 8, 2025: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab on Monday announced the arrest of 12 suspects allegedly working for India’s intelligence agency, RAW, during coordinated operations in Lahore, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur.

According to a CTD spokesperson, officials recovered photos, videos, weapons and explosives from the suspects. The seized material included images and video footage of sensitive locations, a religious seminary and a local festival.

In Lahore, the CTD arrested seven individuals identified as Sukhdeep Singh, Azmat, Faizan, Nabil, Abrar, Usman and Sarfaraz, while Danish was detained during an operation in Faisalabad. Four additional suspects — Rajab, Hashim, Saqib and Arif — were apprehended in Bahawalpur.

Officials said the network was being coordinated through a Facebook account named “Adil”, allegedly operated from India to plan and supervise terrorist activities. The spokesperson added that one of the suspects, Sukhdeep Singh, was born into a Christian family and had converted to another faith. The group was reportedly receiving financial assistance from RAW.

CTD confirmed that cases have been registered against all the suspects, and further investigations are ongoing.

In a separate development, Pakistani security forces conducted a major counterterrorism operation in Quetta, Balochistan, killing 12 terrorists allegedly supported by India.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation targeted multiple hideouts, leading to the elimination of militants and the recovery of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices. The terrorists were reportedly involved in a series of violent attacks in the region.

Security forces are continuing clearance operations to locate any remaining individuals linked to foreign-sponsored networks. Authorities reiterated that the mission to eradicate externally backed terrorism will continue with full force.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the successful operation, saying that under the government’s “Vision of Stability,” Pakistan’s armed forces were achieving major gains in the fight against terrorism. He emphasised that the nation stands firmly united behind the military.

Saturday also marked significant counterterrorism successes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where security forces eliminated 14 terrorists in three separate intelligence-based operations.

According to ISPR, five terrorists associated with the Fitna al-Hindustan group — described as an Indian proxy outfit — were killed in Dera Bugti, Balochistan. Security personnel engaged the militants after confirming their presence, recovering weapons, explosives and communication devices from the site.

In KP’s Tank district, seven more terrorists were neutralised in an intelligence-based operation, while another operation in Lakki Marwat resulted in the killing of two additional khawarij militants.

The ISPR said the recovery of weapons and explosives highlights the persistent threat from foreign-backed networks operating inside Pakistan.
