Beijing, March 1,2026: China’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang has said that the international community should be attentive to the attempt to resurgence of Japan’s militarism.
Zhang made the statement in an interview while commenting on Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s assertions.
That the Japanese government will revise regulations on national security and weapons exports to address what it has classified as “increasing military threat from China in the East Sea and the South Sea from China”.
Zhang stressed that Chinese military actions aim to defend territorial sovereignty and security interests, are in compliance with international law and national laws, and are fully reasonable.
According to Zhang, Japan is creating pretexts to expand its military force and pursue hidden political ambitions.
The international community must resist Japanese attempts to undermine the results of World War II victory and post-war international order, the spokesman said.
