Islamabad, March 31, 2026: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held a meeting with Nicolas Galey, Ambassador of France to Pakistan, to discuss the evolving regional situation, energy security, and opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in the energy and mining sectors.
During the meeting in Islamabad, Ambassador Galey commended Pakistan’s handling of petroleum supply challenges amid regional volatility. He praised the government for ensuring uninterrupted fuel availability and maintaining market stability despite rising pressures.
The ambassador noted that Pakistan had managed the situation more effectively than several other countries in South Asia, highlighting that there had not been “even one hour of panic” in the country during the crisis.
Minister Malik appreciated the ambassador’s remarks and credited Pakistan’s response to timely, proactive, and coordinated measures. He emphasized that the government prioritized maintaining supply continuity over passing on sudden price shocks to consumers.
According to the minister, this approach ensured the steady availability of petroleum products while safeguarding the liquidity of the supply chain during a period of heightened uncertainty in global energy markets.
Both sides also explored avenues to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and France, particularly in the fields of energy development and mining, as Islamabad seeks to enhance resilience in the face of ongoing regional and global challenges.
