Paris, March 31, 2026: A Pakistan-France Trade and Investment Forum was held in Paris on Tuesday, bringing together government officials, business leaders, and industry experts from both Pakistan and France to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
The forum was organized following an understanding reached in 2024 between French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to strengthen economic ties and build a robust partnership between the two countries.
The event aimed to connect businesses, exchange ideas, and explore new avenues of collaboration while showcasing Pakistan’s trade and investment potential. More than 70 companies from both countries participated, representing key sectors including agriculture, information technology, textiles, energy, and tourism.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, inaugurated the forum and highlighted Pakistan’s economic growth trajectory and investment-friendly environment. She emphasized government initiatives designed to facilitate investors and encourged businesses from both sides to pursue joint ventures and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Prominent speakers from the French side included Thierry Pflimlin, Chairman of the France-Pakistan Business Council at MEDEF International; Patricia Glasel, Vice President of the Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France (CCEF); and Ardavan Amir-Aslani. They noted the growing momentum in bilateral economic relations and identified emerging opportunities for trade and investment.
The speakers also stressed the importance of strengthening private sector linkages to further boost economic engagement between the two countries.
The forum concluded with breakout and business-to-business (B2B) sessions, focusing on practical collaboration opportunities in textiles, agriculture and dairy, and the IT sector, aimed at translating discussions into concrete partnerships.
