Astana, April 4, 2026: Yermek Kosherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with ambassadors from Gulf countries and Jordan to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ongoing regional tensions, with the Kazakh Foreign Minister expressing serious concern over the escalating situation, including strikes affecting friendly Arab states. He emphasized the urgent need for a cessation of hostilities, noting the growing civilian casualties and damage to critical infrastructure.

Minister Kosherbayev also thanked the diplomats for their support in facilitating the evacuation and safe return of Kazakh citizens from affected areas.

Reaffirming Kazakhstan’s diplomatic stance, he noted that the country supports peace initiatives led by Gulf states as well as the China–Pakistan proposal aimed at restoring stability in the region. He added that Kazakhstan is ready to offer the city of Turkestan as a platform for potential negotiations.

In response, the Arab envoys highlighted the importance of coordinated international efforts to ensure regional security and stability. They expressed their commitment to strengthening engagement with Astana through enhanced political dialogue, broader cooperation, and joint initiatives.
