Peshawar, April 5, 2026: At least 45 people have lost their lives and 105 others have been injured after heavy rains triggered roof and wall collapses across multiple districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since March 25, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The PDMA’s latest report, issued on Sunday, stated that the fatalities included 23 children, 17 men, and five women. Among the injured were 45 men, 16 women, and 44 children, highlighting the severe impact of the weather on vulnerable populations.

The report further revealed that a total of 442 houses were damaged due to the rains, with 382 partially destroyed and 60 completely collapsed.

The affected districts include Peshawar, Bannu, Abbottabad, Mardan, Bajaur, Kohat, Swat, Mansehra, Charsadda, and Dera Ismail Khan, among several others.

Authorities said coordination is ongoing with Rescue 1122, district administrations, and other relevant agencies to ensure timely relief and rescue operations. Aid supplies have already been dispatched to the affected areas, while local administrations have been directed to expedite assistance to victims.

The PDMA has also warned of another spell of rain expected from April 6 to 9, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel—particularly to vulnerable and tourist areas—and to strictly follow official safety advisories.

The authority added that its Emergency Operations Centre remains fully operational, advising the public to report emergencies or seek assistance through its toll-free helpline, 1700.
