Rawalpindi, July 23, 2026: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue targeted operations against terrorist groups operating in Balochistan, declaring that the campaign would persist until terrorism and its facilitators are completely eliminated from the country.
The field marshal made these remarks while interacting with participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Addressing the participants, Field Marshal Munir said the combined efforts of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, backed by the unwavering support of the people, would bring lasting peace and stability to Balochistan.
He said targeted operations against Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan would continue with full determination, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to dismantling terrorist infrastructure wherever it poses a threat to the country’s security and its citizens.
The army chief said foreign-sponsored proxy groups had consistently attempted to fuel violence, destabilize Balochistan and undermine peace in the province. However, he asserted that such designs would be defeated through the Armed Forces’ firm and decisive response, supported by the resilience and unity of the Pakistani nation.
Describing Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, the field marshal said the province is endowed with immense natural resources and blessed with resilient, patriotic people who represent its greatest strength. He noted that ongoing development initiatives undertaken by the federal and provincial governments were aimed at transforming Balochistan’s socio-economic landscape through an inclusive and people-centric approach.
Field Marshal Munir also appreciated the constructive contributions of civil society, academia, media and youth in promoting national integration and supporting long-term peace and prosperity in the province. Stressing the importance of unity and perseverance, he said collective national efforts were essential to shaping Pakistan’s future.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan’s stability, progress and sovereignty.
