Islamabad, May 30, 2025: A high-level meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Chief Commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Director General Civil Defense, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, to finalize preparations for Eid-ul-Adha 2025. The meeting brought together senior officials from the ICT Administration, Capital Development Authority (CDA), District Municipal Administration (DMA), ICT Police, and other relevant departments.

The primary focus of the meeting was to ensure citywide cleanliness, public safety, and the smooth operation of six designated Cattle Mandis across the federal capital. The CDA’s Sanitation Department, in collaboration with the Emergency and Disaster Management and Encroachment Department, will spearhead a comprehensive cleanliness campaign. The initiative will include the distribution of 200,000 biodegradable bags to facilitate the proper disposal of animal waste. A central control room, established at the Safe City Headquarters, will monitor operations throughout the Eid holidays.

The ICT Police will enhance security measures at Eidgahs, marketplaces, and public parks. A detailed security and traffic management plan will be implemented to maintain public order, with special police deployments at prominent locations. Help desks will be established at major commercial centers, and Islamabad Traffic Police will enforce a specialized parking plan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

Free veterinary camps will also be set up at Cattle Mandis by the Livestock Department to assist the public with animal health and welfare.

As part of the sanitation drive, CDA will launch an awareness campaign to educate citizens about the designated spots for animal waste disposal. The Sanitation Directorate will ensure prompt collection and disposal of waste to maintain hygiene standards across the city.

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, along with DG Civil Defense, emphasized that Eid-ul-Adha is not only a time of faith and devotion but also fosters unity, compassion, and economic activity. They reiterated the administration’s commitment to creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents during the festivities. Key measures include establishing control rooms, enhancing lighting and security at Eid prayer venues, and ensuring emergency services are readily accessible to the public.

To promote family-friendly recreation, Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh will be designated as official family parks during Eid. Additionally, coordination with the Murree District Administration is underway to manage the expected increase in traffic during the holiday period.

The administration assured citizens that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure a peaceful and joyous Eid for all residents of Islamabad.
