New York, July 5, 2025: In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral trade ties, Mazhar Thathal, Chairman and CEO of the Global Trade Expo Centre (GTEC), led a high-level Pakistan-USA SMEs Trade and Business Delegation to the United States. The delegation held a productive meeting with Randy Peers, President of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, at the Chamber House in New York.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between GTEC and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce to enhance cooperation between the business communities of Pakistan and Brooklyn. The MOU aims to promote trade, investment, and mutual business opportunities, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Mr. Randy Peers and Mr. Avi Leshes, Director at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, warmly welcomed the delegation and lauded Mazhar Thathal’s efforts in fostering international trade collaboration. They expressed strong interest in deepening commercial engagement between the two regions.

The discussions centered on identifying new avenues for trade and future cooperation. Mr. Liaqat Thathal, Director of GTEC, underscored the untapped potential for Pakistan-USA trade, noting that increased collaboration could significantly benefit both nations’ business ecosystems.

Representatives from various regional chambers, including Sialkot, Lahore, Punjab, Islamabad, and the Rawalpindi Women Chambers of Commerce, actively participated in the dialogue. The delegates shared industry-specific interests and emphasized the importance of inclusive trade partnerships.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing keen interest in building long-term, sustainable business relationships across key sectors.
