Islamabad, July 11, 2025: Pakistan has strongly rejected the recent remarks made by Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval regarding the Pakistan-India standoff, terming them as a deliberate distortion of facts and a misrepresentation of reality.
Addressing the weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the statements made by the Indian NSA not only mislead the public but also violate the norms of responsible statecraft.
“Boasting about military aggression against a sovereign state is a serious breach of the United Nations Charter and the established principles of international law,” the spokesperson asserted. He added that rather than constructing a fictitious narrative, India should acknowledge the downing of six of its fighter jets and the significant damage inflicted on its military infrastructure during the recent conflict.
The remarks by Doval, which appeared to glorify Indian actions during the May 2025 confrontation, have been widely criticized in Pakistan as inflammatory and disconnected from facts on the ground.
In response to a question, the Foreign Office spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to raising global awareness about the ongoing human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
“Indian armed forces continue to operate in IIOJK with complete impunity,” Khan said, adding that the recent developments in the region have further exposed the severity of the humanitarian crisis to the international community.
He stressed that Pakistan will continue to expose the “depravity of Indian policy” in the occupied territory and push for justice and accountability for the victims of state-led repression.
The Foreign Office once again called on the international community to take note of the deteriorating situation in IIOJK and urged India to comply with its international obligations and respect the rights of the Kashmiri people.
