Lahore, October 25, 2025: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has declared 72 tehsils across 27 districts of the province as disaster-affected areas following recent floods, according to an official notification issued on Saturday.

The notification, issued in collaboration with the Board of Revenue Punjab, states that villages with more than 50 percent damage have been categorized as disaster-affected under the Punjab National Disasters Prevention and Relief Act, 1958.

The district administrations concerned have been directed to expedite rehabilitation and relief operations, assess the losses suffered by affected families, and ensure that financial assistance is provided at the earliest.

According to DG PDMA Punjab, special teams have been constituted by the Relief Commissioner Punjab to monitor ongoing relief efforts. He said that land revenue and irrigation taxes would not be collected during the Kharif season, while farmers who sustained losses would be eligible for loan relief, waivers, or deferments.

Relief camps are being established for displaced and affected families, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the PDMA and district governments will jointly initiate rehabilitation projects in the affected areas, including the restoration of roads, drainage systems, schools, health centers, and housing infrastructure.
