Beijing, January 4,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a series of high-level meetings with senior Chinese officials in Beijing on Sunday, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with China and enhancing regional cooperation.

Dar arrived in the Chinese capital on Saturday to co-chair the seventh round of the Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The dialogue is aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and strategic domains.

During his visit, the deputy prime minister met Chinese Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang. Both sides reiterated their resolve to further develop Pakistan–China relations, with Vice Premier Ding appreciating Pakistan’s consistent support for China on issues related to its core national interests.

The two leaders also underscored the significance of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, agreeing to utilize the milestone to chart a forward-looking roadmap for cooperation. They discussed expanding collaboration under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other priority areas. Vice Premier Ding conveyed New Year greetings to the leadership and people of Pakistan.

In a separate meeting, Dar met Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and congratulated the Chinese leadership on the successful fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The discussions included an exchange of views on regional developments and strengthening party-to-party contacts.

The meetings concluded with a shared commitment to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan–China diplomatic ties in a meaningful and substantive manner. Upon his arrival in Beijing, Dar was received by China’s Special Representative on Afghanistan along with senior officials of the Pakistani Embassy, reflecting the high-level coordination surrounding the visit.
