London, February 2, 2026: The Pakistan High Commission in London hosted an event to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming support for the people of Illegally Occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and commemorating the sacrifices made in their struggle for self-determination.

The event brought together members of the UK Parliament, human rights and political activists, prominent Kashmiri leaders in the UK, and the Pakistani diaspora. Special guest speakers, including Engineer Amir Muqam, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, and Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, participated virtually from Pakistan.

Other prominent speakers included MP Yasmin Qureshi, MP Afzal Khan, MP Adnan Hussain, Lord Qurban Hussain, former MP Khalid Mehmood, Raja Najabat Hussain, Adv. Rehana Ali, Ali Raza Syed, Cllr Muhammad Sadiq, Cllr Amjad Abbasi, and Shamim Shawl of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

Speakers paid tribute to the sacrifices of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming their solidarity and the need to grant Kashmiris the right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Addressing the event, Engineer Amir Muqam stated, “Kashmir is not an internal matter of India; it is an internationally recognized dispute. Pakistan will continue to raise the voice for the Kashmiri people at every global forum until justice is delivered.”

Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon said, “The people of Kashmir have paid an immense price for their demand for freedom. Their voices must not be ignored, and their suffering must not be forgotten.”

Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, highlighted decades of repression in IIOJK, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, communication blackouts, and forced demographic changes. He emphasized that despite these hardships, the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken.

Special prayers were offered for Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, President of AJK, in recognition of his long-standing contributions to the Kashmir cause.

Earlier, the High Commissioner, Kashmiri leaders, Pakistani diaspora members, and media representatives visited a photo exhibition organized by the High Commission, which portrayed the atrocities being inflicted on the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
