Rawalpindi, March 15, 2026: Pakistan’s security forces killed five militants during an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on March 15 after reports about the presence of militants belonging to what the military described as an Indian proxy group, Fitna al Khwarij.

During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the militant hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire in which five militants were killed.

The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the militants, who were allegedly involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

A sanitization operation is currently underway to ensure that no other militants remain in the area, the statement added.

The military reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counterterrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign approved by the Federal Apex Committee of the National Action Plan.

According to the ISPR, the campaign will continue with full momentum to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
