Islamabad, March 24, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said Pakistan fully supports ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, stressing the need for peace and stability in the region and beyond.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the prime minister welcomed initiatives focused on dialogue, underscoring that negotiations remain the most effective path toward resolving the conflict.
He further stated that, subject to the concurrence of the United States and Iran, Pakistan stands ready and would be honoured to host and facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks for a comprehensive settlement.
The statement comes against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Recent military exchanges, including airstrikes and retaliatory actions, have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict. The situation has also impacted global energy markets and raised concerns over civilian casualties and regional stability.
Amid growing international calls for restraint, Pakistan’s offer to host talks reflects its stated commitment to diplomacy, de-escalation, and constructive engagement to help bring lasting peace to the region.
