Ethiopian Ambassador explores investment cooperation with Pakistani conglomerate

Islamabad, April 14, 2026: Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Oumer H. Oba, hosted Hatim Y. Tabani, Executive Director of the Tabani Group of Companies, to discuss potential avenues for bilateral investment and economic cooperation.

During the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted the evolving investment landscape of Ethiopia, emphasizing the extraordinary opportunities emerging from the country’s homegrown economic reforms. He noted that Ethiopia is actively seeking international partnerships to accelerate sustainable economic growth and industrial development.

Ambassador Oba invited the Pakistani business leader to visit Ethiopia to explore promising investment prospects in key sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, energy, information and communication technology (ICT), and construction.

Mr. Tabani welcomed the invitation and expressed keen interest in strengthening economic ties. He outlined the Tabani Group’s diverse portfolio, which spans agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and technology, and conveyed his readiness to explore mutually beneficial collaborations.

The meeting underscored the growing economic engagement between Pakistan and Ethiopia, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and investment through private-sector partnerships.
