Mumbai, December 18, 2024: Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has publicly praised Italy’s recent move toward legalizing chemical castration for sex offenders, calling it a “fantastic” initiative. The actress, known for her outspoken views on social issues, expressed her support via a social media post, urging the Indian government to adopt similar measures to combat sexual crimes.

In her post, Preity wrote, “What a fantastic move! Hope @mygovindia also does something similar. It’s high time there is zero tolerance for such crimes.” Her statement has sparked widespread discussions on social media, with many of her followers echoing her sentiments.

Italy’s proposed law aims to introduce chemical castration as a penalty for convicted sex offenders, particularly repeat offenders, to reduce the risk of reoffending. The measure has garnered significant international attention and stirred debates on its effectiveness and ethical implications.

Preity’s endorsement of the policy has reignited conversations in India about implementing stricter punishments for sexual crimes. While her fans and supporters lauded her bold stance, some critics questioned the practicality and human rights implications of such a measure.

The actress has long been a vocal advocate for women’s rights and social justice. Her latest remarks add to a growing global dialogue about creating safer environments and ensuring justice for victims of sexual violence.

As debates surrounding the feasibility of chemical castration in India gain momentum, Preity Zinta’s comments have brought the issue into the spotlight, urging lawmakers and citizens alike to consider tougher actions against sex offenders.
