London, December 22,2024: Severe weather conditions have led to significant travel disruptions at London’s Heathrow Airport, with over 100 flights canceled and hundreds more delayed. The cancellations are attributed to strong winds reaching up to 75 mph, affecting both domestic and international flights.

The adverse weather has also impacted ferry services, with numerous routes canceled, further complicating travel plans for many. The Met Office has issued severe wind warnings covering nearly all areas of the UK, predicting challenging travel conditions and potential icy patches.

Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight statuses and to allow extra time for their journeys. The airport is anticipating a record number of passengers during the Christmas period, despite the disruptions.
