Islamabad/Abu Dhabi, June 12, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday for a one-day official visit, underscoring the enduring brotherly ties between the two nations. He was warmly received at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi.
According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the visit reflects the “deep-rooted fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE, marked by mutual trust, shared values, and close cooperation across multiple sectors.”
During the visit, PM Shehbaz will hold high-level talks with the UAE leadership, including a bilateral meeting with UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The discussions will cover a broad range of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern.
The visit aims to deepen economic engagement and broaden multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The Foreign Office emphasized that the trip is a manifestation of the shared commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and exploring new avenues for collaboration, particularly in priority sectors.
Earlier this year, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed visited Pakistan, landing in Rahim Yar Khan in January. During that visit, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties. Key areas of focus included regional stability, climate change, and increased cooperation in sectors such as mining, minerals, and agriculture.
PM Shehbaz thanked the UAE for its continued support, especially in times of humanitarian need and development challenges. The leaders pledged to work closely to advance peace, prosperity, and mutual interests in the region.
The meeting concluded with a joint resolve to build a brighter, more cooperative future for both nations.
