Leeds, June 23, 2026: Australia women’s national cricket team won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan women’s national cricket team in the 21st match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Headingley on Tuesday.
The two sides entered the contest with sharply contrasting form. Australia have been dominant throughout the tournament, registering three consecutive wins to sit at the top of Group 1 with six points and a strong net run rate.
Pakistan, on the other hand, have endured a difficult campaign, losing all of their opening matches and currently occupying fifth place in the group standings, narrowly ahead of the Netherlands on net run rate.
Historically, Australia have maintained a commanding record in Women’s T20 Internationals against Pakistan. In 16 previous meetings, Australia have won 14 matches, while two encounters ended without a result.
Momentum heading into the fixture also strongly favoured the Australian side, who arrived on a six-match winning streak across formats, while Pakistan were still searching for their first win after seven consecutive defeats in T20Is.
